Swedish Derby day races moved to Monday evening

As previously reported, a serious accident involving the starting stalls occurred at Jägersro on Sunday, causing this year's major Derby Day event to be halted after the first race. On Sunday evening, it was decided that the remaining races will take place tomorrow evening, Monday, July 15.

The following schedule applies (local times)

  • 17:00 Race 2 - Kronprinsens Husarregementes Memorial
  • 17:25 Race 3 - Hovängens Horseracing Svenskt Derby Consolation
  • 17:50 Race 4 - M Wettermarks Minneslöpning
  • 18:15 Race 5 - Hellges Glasmästeri Derby Day Sprint
  • 18:40 Race 6 - Zawawi Cup (L)
  • 19:05 Race 7 - Malmö Stads Pris
  • 19:35 Race 8 - Jockeyklubben Svenskt Derby
  • 20:10 Race 9 - Valley Chapel Memorial

Starting stalls from Göteborg Galopp will be transported to Jägersro on Monday.

The event will have free admission. All those who purchased tickets and race programs for Sunday's Derby day through Tickster will be refunded.

Unfortunately, a member of the starting stall staff was severely injured in the accident. On Sunday evening, we received the positive news that the person’s injuries are less severe than initially feared.
