Racing Breaks launches trip to Stockholm Cup Day

20 April 2023 21:18

Travelling to Bro Park in September, Racing Breaks (Europe’s largest racing travel company, based in London), are excited to provide unique insight to Sweden’s thoroughbred industry in an inaugural trip to Scandinavia.

Guests will be invited to build a long weekend around the Stockholm Cup International on 17th September. On Friday 15th September, the company will hold a drinks evening in central Stockholm, before, on Saturday 16th September, guests are given time for sightseeing around the capital, taking in the jubilee celebrations of King Carl XVI Gustaf, as he marks fifty years on the throne.

On race day, guests will be transferred to the racecourse for a guided tour of Bro Park’s training facilities with the track’s reigning champions: jockey Per Anders Gråberg and trainer Patrick Wahl. They will then enjoy a three-course lunch at the course’s panoramic restaurant, before being transferred back to Stockholm, flying home to the UK on Monday 18th September.

Xander Brett, who’s leading the trip for Racing Breaks, said he’s delighted to be showcasing Sweden’s “small but dedicated” racing world. “Scandinavian racing is still a relatively unknown quantity,” he explained, “but it has so much to be proud of. We’re delighted to be taking guests to Stockholm for the first time, and hope they’ll relish an opportunity to get behind-the-scenes access to this unique racing world.”

Guests can choose between a two or three-night stay at Stockholm’s world-renowned 5* Grand Hotel, which has become a national institution through hosting Nobel laureates, visiting dignitaries and a multitude of celebrities. Breakfast and access to the hotel gym is contained in the package, and all experiences are flight inclusive, with train tickets provided for travel between Arlanda airport and the city centre.

Places start at 11 010 SEK (£859), and can be booked on the Racing Breaks website.
