The Swedish-bred gelding Stormy Ocean landed Sunday's ITM Spring Mile (L) at Jägersro, the first Listed event of the year in Scandinavia.

Sunday's raceday at Jägersro was sponsored by Irish Thoroughbred Marketing, who also gave its name to the main event, the Listed ITM Spring Mile.

Duca Di Como was a heavy favorite ahead of the race, but the Norwegian-trained star did not fire in his seasonal debut and had to settle for third place. Instead, the Lennart Reuterskiöld-trained Stormy Ocean stepped forward and won the race by a neck ahead of Couples.

It was a fourth straight victory for Stormy Ocean, who is owned and bred by Bo Andersson and Wiveka Jardby (Sjödikens Hundhotell). His next target will be the Pramms Memorial at Jägersro on Sunday, 23 May.

Stormy Ocean is a seven-year-old Swedish-bred son of Mingun and was ridden by Jacob Johansen. The victory was worth SEK 150,000.
